2 Culpeper Accidents Caused by Drivers Asleep at the Wheel

Culpeper County drivers escaped serious injury Wednesday morning, after 2 separate reports of accidents caused by drivers falling asleep.

The first accident was reported at around 8:21 am, according to the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office.

A man’s Toyota Tacoma pickup truck drifted off the U.S. 29 and struck a tractor-trailer that was parked on the shoulder. The pickup truck was totaled, but no one was seriously injured.

The second crash was reported around 8:50 am. The driver was not injured in the single car accident.

The driver of the first crash has been cited for reckless driving.

It may not seem like a big deal to drive a short difference while really tired, but these drivers were very lucky.
