ANOTHER Terrible Way to Flee the Accident Scene | Virginia Reckless Driving Attorney
Every neighborhood has a story about the time Mrs. Soandso lost control of her car and drove up into the neighbor’s flowerbeds. But Kristin Butcher, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, will be able to one-up that story wherever she moves.
Of course she’s also looking at three misdemeanor charges, but such is life.
20-year-old Butcher is accused of crashing her car into a house, causing more than $50,000 in damages, and then leaving the scene to report her vehicle stolen.

Police arrived at the neighbors’ home at approximately 3:15 Saturday morning to find the front window, living room and kitchen “completely demolished.” About eight minutes later, dispatchers received a call from Butcher stating someone had stolen her vehicle and crashed it before returning it to her driveway.
Butcher told police that she and her friend had been asleep in the house (located about a mile from the crash site) when she heard her car being returned.
Butcher’s 21-year-old friend told the police otherwise. Crying and bleeding from her forehead, she told officers she and Butcher had left a friend’s house when Butcher drove off the road, crashed into the house, and bailed.
Butcher was arrested on misdemeanor charges of leaving the scene of a crash without giving information, leaving the scene of a crash on private property without rendering aid and giving a false police report.
