Drunk Driver Takes Pedestrian’s Life | Fairfax Pedestrian Accident Attorney
Natasha Herzog, 30, has had a number of strikes on her record for prior violations of the law and now, her most recent charge is that of involuntary manslaughter.
Herzog was out for a drunken drive when she struck a couple of 23 year olds walking home from a semi-formal. Charlotte Staats and Hunter Richardson were the unfortunate victims of this accident. Richardson later died after the crash at a hospital in Virginia Beach.
Staats and Richardson’s family were emotionally broken after the accident, especially after they found out Herzog’s past convictions. Prior to this accident, Herzog had six Virginia reckless driving and five Virginia driving on a suspended license convictions, and it was her second drunk driving charge in 5 years.
Many factors were taken into account while the judge determined Herzog’s sentence, because while she had many previous convictions, she was also productive during her jail time. She ended up with 5 years behind bars, and won’t be able to get behind the wheel until about 12 years after her release date.
Parents of the victims are worried that since she broke her suspensions before, what will stop her from doing it again.
