Drunk Teenager Steals Police Car, Passes Out in It | Fairfax DUI Attorney
Oregon State Police arrested an 18-year-old teenager after Marion County sheriffs found him unconscious in a Ford Mustang parked on the shoulder of a highway.
We know that it’s possible to be convicted of DUI/DWI charges even if the car is not in motion, but that issue wasn’t the biggest of 18-year-old Nikita N. Efimov’s problems.
The largest of Efimov’s problems was that the car he was sleeping in was actually a stolen police car.
Efimov is suspected of stealing the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Team patrol car from an off-duty officer’s house in Silverton, OR.
At about 10:40 p.m. on the evening of April 10, police received a report of a white Ford Mustang driving recklessly. About 20 minutes later, a trooper spotted the marked patrol car parked by the side of the road. Thinking he was contacting the officer charged with the vehicle, he actually pulled up and found Efimov sleeping in the driver’s seat.
Efimov now faces charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person.
Many states are cracking down on underage DUIs, but Efimov’s actions elevate him into that infamous stupid criminal category.
People make mistakes. It’s a fact. If you or someone you know have been charged with a Virginia DUI/DWI, know your rights. Contact the Parrish Law Firm for you free copy of the DWI special report.
