Fairfax County Conducts DUI Checkpoint | Fairfax DUI Lawyer

Fairfax County police officers conducted a sobriety checkpoint last Friday in the West Springfield police district.

As they so often do, the checkpoint was announced in a news release and on the county’s website the morning of. Despite this, four DWI citations were still given out.

648 vehicles passed through the checkpoint on Old Keene Mill Road. Five arrests were made in total—four for Driving While Intoxicated, and another unrelated criminal arrest. Additionally, six summonses were issued for miscellaneous traffic offenses.

Many districts will announce the time and date (though not location) of sobriety checkpoints or DUI-directed patrols beforehand.
