Wisconsin Woman Reports Self as Drunk Driver
On Halloween night, a 911 dispatcher in Clark County, Wisconsin received a bizarre call from 49-year-old Mary Strey who was calling to report herself as a drunk driver after consuming a number of alcoholic beverages at several bars that evening.
During the call, the slightly confused Mary Strey tells the dispatcher, “Somebody’s really drunk driving down Granton Road” but the dispatcher did not realize at first that Mary was referring to herself. The dispatcher tells Mary to pull over and she complied. After reportedly failing a field sobriety test and having a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.17, Mary Strey was charged for the first time with drunk driving.
